The FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11 are comprised of the best footballers from around the globe – voted by the players, for the players.

Since 2005, the World 11 has depicted the best footballers in each position and is the only global award decided exclusively by players.

How does the process work?

The World 11 is voted for by professional players from around the world. FIFPRO and affiliated player unions distribute unique links that give players from professional football clubs access to a digital voting platform.

Footballers pick the three players who, in their opinion, were the most outstanding in each of the following positions: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.

The goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards with the most votes in their position make it into the World 11. The 11th spot is assigned to the outfield player with the next highest number of votes.

Players are free to choose any of their peers. The voting tool contains a suggestion list, but players are allowed to add other names if they are not mentioned on said list.

What is the period that players are judged on?

The FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 is comprised of the most voted 11 men’s players from around the globe. The awards are given to the best players in each position based on their performances during the period 19 December 2022 to 20 August 2023 inclusive. Players must have appeared in at least 23 official matches (at domestic top-flight or international level) during that period.
