Three French World champions were selected by their peers for the 2018 FIFA FIFPRO World 11. And finally, the first Belgium player received a World 11 award.

It was a night to remember: the premiere of the FIFA FIFPRO Women's World 11, which also marked the first appearance of four players in the Men's World 11.

The World 11 went to Spain: all eleven footballers who were elected for the 2012 FIFA FIFPRO World 11 played at a Spanish Liga club.

The 2007-2008 FIFPRO World 11 marked the end of one era and the beginning of another. As Italian, French and Brazilian players dominated the World 11 in its early years, Spanish players started taking over their reigns.

The fifth edition of the World 11 was celebrated in Zurich, as FIFA joined FIFPRO in celebrating the most outstanding eleven players on the planet. For the first time in World 11 history, all players appeared on the same stage.

Three German world champions and four new faces appeared on stage for the 2014 FIFA FIFPRO World 11.

The second edition of the FIFPRO World 11 was dominated by players from Italy and France, the two countries that faced each other in the 2006 World Cup final.

Ten years after winning his previous trophy, Gianluigi Buffon returns to the FIFA FIFPRO World 11. His countryman and former teammate Leonardo Bonucci was the only debutant in the 2017 World 11.

For the first time, the Women’s World 11 was presented on the same stage as the Men's World 11. FIFA and FIFPRO jointly celebrated world's most outstanding female footballers during the Best Football Awards at Milan’s Scala theatre. It was a night to remember.

Ten years after the first edition of the Men's World 11, FIFPRO decided it was high time to celebrate world's most outstanding female footballers in the game as well. With great pride, we announced the first Women's World 11 in February 2016.

Luis Suarez was the new face in the 2016 FIFA FIFPRO World 11 and Manuel Neuer was the only player who was not from Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Olympic gold medalists Leonie Maier and Dzsenifer Marozsan made their appearance in the 2016 FIFPRO Women's World 11, which featured players from six countries.
