FIFPRO proudly presents the 2019/2020 FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11. Several players spoke with us about their selection for the World 11.

Alphonso Davies

Defender for Bayern Munich and Canada

“I am definitely living my football dream right now. At the age of 19 I have already won many football trophies with the team and individually as well. To be put in the World 11 is very nice.”

Robert Lewandowski

Forward for Bayern Munich and Poland

“To be in the World 11 means a lot. You see so many big names. I am very happy I can be in there with my teammates from Bayern Munich.”

Joshua Kimmich

Midfielder for Bayern Munich and Germany

“As a little boy, I always looked at the World 11. Back then, it appeared to be so far out of my reach. To be part of that team now, with all these big names, is a great feeling.”

Thiago Alcantara

Midfielder for Liverpool and Spain, last season with Bayern Munich

“It’s a big honour and it’s a privilege to be there in the middle of the other ten players. But this kind of recognition is so huge that you must share it with all the people that are in the background working with you and supporting you all those years. I’m happy with it but I’m more happy when it comes as a collective prize, for sure.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Defender for Liverpool and England

“It’s a prestigious award, it’s an honour to be in the team. It’s something not many players have the privilege of saying they have been able to get included in. It’s something I don’t take for granted and I’m obviously thankful for everyone that voted for me. But the main focus for me is not winning these awards, it’s about winning the big trophies.”

Alisson Becker

Goalkeeper for Liverpool and Brazil

“I feel great being alongside such top players. A little bit surprised, normally I was waiting for [Manuel] Neuer to be there, to be honest. He did really well. But I’m really happy. We had an amazing season, winning the Premier League and the Club World Cup as well, playing really well. So I’m really happy and thankful to be there in the World 11.”

Kevin De Bruyne

Midfielder for Manchester City and Belgium

“It’s a great honour to be recognised in this way by other professionals. To be included in a World 11 by players who are competing against you to be the very best is a huge achievement and one that is very humbling."

“I go out every game trying to set the example for the guys around me and hopefully this shows that I did that over the last twelve months. I think my performances have been good and they’ve also been consistent, which is an important measure for any professional footballer."

“The aim is to use this individual success and turn it into more trophies and titles with both club and country.”

Sergio Ramos

Defender for Real Madrid and Spain

“I want to dedicate this award to all the victims of the coronavirus and to all those families who have suffered from it; a very big hug for all of them. I also want to congratulate my teammates in the World 11 and all the women who have won the World 11 award as well. For me it is a privilege to be part of these eleven. It is the eleventh for me."

“One of the keys to my success is to always maintain the illusion, ambition and hunger to win. Despite having won a lot in my career, I still maintain that ambition of wanting to improve and keep winning things. I like to start from scratch every year, dreaming and achieving new goals. I keep on trying to increase my record and improve as a player. ”
