FIFPRO Asia/Oceania is one of FIFPRO’s regional divisions and represents professional men’s and women’s footballers across Asia and Oceania. Representing over 7,000 players, FIFPRO Asia/Oceania is made up of 10 member unions and five observer unions. 

In collaboration with its members, FIFPRO Asia/Oceania engages with key stakeholders across the region to address workplace issues and promote fair, safe and sustainable working environments for professional footballers. 

1.    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Operations Coordinator to support the FIFPRO Asia/Oceania Secretary General, President and Board. In this role, you will contribute to the execution of FIFPRO Asia/Oceania’s strategy and help advance the Division’s priorities across the football landscape of Asia and Oceania.

You will work closely with the FIFPRO Asia/Oceania Secretary General to support the Division’s internal governance and administration, including member and player engagement. This role requires a strong ability to coordinate projects, manage multiple priorities, contribute to the effective delivery of the Division’s work and a strong commitment to the values and guiding principles of the Division:

2.    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The FIFPRO Asia/Oceania Coordinator will be responsible for: 

  • Preparing and coordinating divisional Board meetings and General Assemblies and supporting the implementation of Board decisions;
  • Coordinating specific projects and workstreams within the Division, as well as supporting division-facing projects led by FIFPRO departments;
  • Supporting internal communications with FIFPRO Asia/Oceania board members and member unions, in close collaboration with the Secretary General;
  • Liaising with the FIFPRO Asia/Oceania Communications lead on the development and delivery of division-facing external communications;
  • Supporting FIFPRO Asia/Oceania engagement with external stakeholders (e.g. confederations, sub-confederations, media), with the aim of strengthening the Division’s visibility and influence;  
  • Supporting the Division’s compliance with internal regulations and good governance, in close collaboration with the FIFPRO Asia/Oceania Secretary General and the FIFPRO Legal department;
  • Aligning and coordinating divisional information and activities to ensure an integrated delivery of FIFPRO activities, and serving as a touchpoint for FIFPRO departments/staff on division-related matters;
  • Travelling internationally, when necessary, to coordinate meetings and gatherings related to the role.

3.    REQUIREMENTS 

  • University degree or Master’s degree in sports management, international relations or relevant field;
  • 3-5 years of professional experience;
  • Detailed knowledge of the football landscape, employment rights and of players and of the issues affecting the region;
  • Experience in project coordination and stakeholder management;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and online project management/collaboration tools (Teams, Asana, etc);
  • Fluent in English and ideally at least one additional language widely spoken in the region. 

4.    COMPETENCIES

  • Strong administrative and IT skills; 
  • High work capacity and passion for the job, in addition to high ethical and moral standards;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Analytical thinking and political awareness;
  • Strong understanding of how to connect with a diverse and international group.

5.    WHAT WE OFFER

  • A flexible freelance engagement of approximately two to three days per week;
  • Remote working, with a preference for candidates based in Asia or Oceania;

This assignment is open only to individuals who are formally registered as independent contractors in their country of residence and who independently manage and pay their own tax and social security obligations.
