FIFPRO Europe represents professional men’s and women’s footballers across Europe through a network of 35 national player unions. Representing more than 38,000 players, FIFPRO Europe works to safeguard and advance players’ employment conditions within the European football industry.

In collaboration with its member unions, FIFPRO Europe engages with UEFA and other key stakeholders – including leagues, clubs, fans and institutional partners – to address workplace issues and promote fair, safe and sustainable working environments for professional footballers across the region.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

FIFPRO Europe is looking for a freelance Communications Coordinator to support its communications activities on a part-time basis (approximately two days per week).

The role focuses on supporting the delivery of clear, consistent and impactful communications across FIFPRO Europe’s priority areas. You will work closely with the FIFPRO Europe leadership and global communications team to develop and execute content across multiple channels, including media, digital platforms and stakeholder communications.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the European football landscape and the role of player unions, who is able to translate complex policy, labour and governance matters into clear and compelling messaging for different audiences.

You are a strong all-round communicator, able to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and contribute to a credible and authoritative voice across FIFPRO Europe’s communications.

PRIMARY FOCUS

  • Support the planning and execution of FIFPRO Europe’s communications activities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of communication strategies across multiple channels.
  • Translate complex labour, governance and policy topics into clear, accessible content.
  • Identify relevant opportunities to position FIFPRO Europe within key industry discussions. 

CONTENT & COMMUNICATIONS

  • Draft and edit content in English, including press materials, digital content and stakeholder messaging.
  • Support the promotion of reports, campaigns, events and advocacy initiatives.
  • Contribute to storytelling around player welfare, labour rights and developments in European football, including member union initiatives and developments.
  • Support the amplification of member union strategic communications and key project highlights.
  • Ensure consistency in tone of voice and messaging across communications outputs. 

MEDIA & STAKEHOLDER SUPPORT

  • Assist with media engagement and the preparation of communication materials.
  • Support coordination with FIFPRO Europe stakeholders, including member unions and partners in communication-facing matters.
  • Help prepare briefing materials, key messages and background notes for meetings and events. 

COORDINATION & DELIVERY

  • Work closely with FIFPRO’s global communications team to ensure alignment.
  • Support communications planning around key moments in the football calendar.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners where required.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU…

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Have experience in communications, media or public affairs, ideally within sport or an international environment.
  • Have a strong understanding of the European football industry and the role of player unions.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (native or near-native proficiency in at least one).
  • Have a good understanding of the European media landscape and stakeholder environment.
  • Are able to translate complex topics into clear and engaging messaging.
  • Are comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities.
  • Are available to work approximately two days per week, with flexibility depending on project needs.
  • Are willing to travel internationally when required.

This assignment is open only to individuals who are formally registered as independent contractors in their country of residence and who independently manage and pay their own tax and social security obligations.
