What is FIFPRO?

FIFPRO is the worldwide representative body for professional footballers. We represent over 65,000 men’s and women’s professional footballers across the globe. We do so via our 71 affiliated national player associations.

With a team of around 40 people, we defend the rights of the players and ensure the player voice is heard in the football industry’s decision-making process.

Our team is made up of specialists in the areas of legal, member development, policy, governance, finance and marketing and communications. As the Event Manager, you will work across the different departments and be part of the Union and Player Relations team.

Job Description

As the Event Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of FIFPRO’s congresses and events. You will be responsible for locating and securing the best venues, booking flights, and creating a memorable on-site programme which includes dinners and social activities. You will be the project lead when it comes to the planning and coordination of the event and responsible for the tracking of participants, information provision and branding.

During the events, you will lead the on-site event management and oversee the setup, staffing and operations. You are the go-to person for questions on all logistical matters around the events and will manage the team on-site.

You will work closely with your colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of each event, adhering to strict timelines and budgets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and manage FIFPRO’s congresses and events worldwide – from concept development to execution and post-event evaluation.
  • Lead on-site event management and oversee setup, staffing, and operations to ensure a smooth and successful event experience for all participants.
  • Oversee event promotion and marketing activities, including digital and traditional media.
  • Work closely together with the other departments to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Liaise with external companies and partners to negotiate contracts, secure venues, and manage event logistics.
  • Stay within the allocated budget and keep track of expenses.
  • Periodically report back on key indicators of the event such as budget, satisfaction etc.

Requirements

  • BA or MA degree Event Management, Sports Management, Hospitality, or related field.
  • At least five years of work experience in event management, preferably in the sports industry.
  • Proven track record of successful planning and execution of large-scale events, preferably in an international context.
  • Fluent in English, and preferably either French or Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid project management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail and a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Proficiency in event management software.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours as required by event schedules.
