Bonmati's 2023/24 season

Almost everything Bonmati did between 21 August 2023 and 10 August 2024, the period in which players are judged on by their fellow professionals for the 2024 World 11, was excellent: with Barcelona she won the Spanish League, the Copa de la Reina, the Spanish Super Cup and the Women's Champions League, a historic run for a single season, while with La Roja she won the Women's Nations League.

The only bitter pill to swallow was finishing fourth at the Women's Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024, for which the Spanish national team was a strong contender.

Leader of the best team in Europe and always present at key moments, Bonmati scored 18 goals and registered 19 assists during the season. One of those goals served no less than to open the scoring in the Champions League final against Olympique Lyonnais. Aside from the fact that her vision is one of her many talents, Bonmati again scored crucial goals in the semi-finals and final of the Women's Nations League.

She also became the first footballer to win the women's category of the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year Award.

Bonmati in the Women's World 11

At 26 years of age, Bonmati could make the FIFPRO Women's World 11 for the second time in her career. Her debut season was 2023, after winning the World Cup and the Golden Ball at the Women's World Cup, among other titles and individual awards of excellence.

She had previously been on the shortlist of finalists: in the 2022 edition, being Spanish champion earned her a place among the 23 nominees.

Bonmati also achieved this in the 2021 edition by winning the league championship, the Copa de la Reina, as well as being voted the best player in the final of the Women's Champions League, in which Barcelona Femeni were crowned champions for the first time in their history.
