All over the world, representatives of professional footballers associations are travelling from club to club, to invite players to vote for the FIFA FIFPro World XI 2012. Today news from Russia.

Days after Lionel Messi and his teammates from FC Barcelona officially launched the vote for the FIFA FIFPro World XI, their Champions League rivals Spartak Moscow followed their example. Both teams have been drawn against each other in the group phase of this year’s Champions League. Barcelona narrowly won the first encounter, 3-2 in Camp Nou.

Back in Moscow, the players from Spartak welcomed representatives of the Russian professional footballers association PSFT, in order to cast their votes for the FIFA FIFPro World XI. They were the first players in Russia this year to participate in the election.

The players, many of them members of their national team, accepted the challenge and composed their World XI: Russian national team players Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and Dmitri Kombarov, Brazilian strikers Ari and Welliton, Irish winger Aiden McGeady, Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Dikan, Dutch midfielder Demy de Zeeuw, Georgian winger Jano Ananidze and Argentine midfielder Nicolas Pareja were amongst those enjoying the moment.

PSFT representative Dmitry Studenikin announced that the Russian players’ union will visit all other teams with the ballot box and the World XI voting forms: ‘We invite all footballers playing in Russia to participate in the voting. Choose your World XI!’
