Dare Vrsic collected his second player of the year award in Slovenia.

The NK Maribor midfielder was chosen by his colleagues in a vote organized by local player union SPINS.

Vrsic, who also won the award in 2012, was the most important man for champions Maribor. No player was involved with more of his team’s goals, scoring 11 times and adding 11 assists.

 

The 32-year old attacking midfielder, who is looking for a new club as his contract will finish at the end of this season, is one of five Maribor players included in the team of the year, the Spins XI (see below).

 

 

Vrsic' teammate Luka Zahovic was voted best young player. The 21-year old striker was Maribor’s topscorer with 16 goals,
