Real Madrid players went to the polls today to vote on their best XI of 2015.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez were among the 10-time European champion squad's stars who filled in the black voting forms at the club's Valdebebas training ground.

The votes from Los Blancos are among about 2,000 from Spain that are being collected by the national players' union AFE.

The ballot papers will be sent to international union FIFPro's offices near Amsterdam. FIFPro oversees the process and is already receiving thousands of completed forms from around the world.

In last year's World XI there were three Real Madrid players: Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Toni Kroos. Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi have been selected a record eight times.

On November 26, FIFPro will announce the most-voted 55 names that include 5 goalkeepers, 20 defenders, 15 midfielders and 15 forwards.

The World XI, which is in its 11th year, is set to be unveiled on January 11, 2016, at FIFA’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in Zurich.
