The footballers’ associations of Bulgaria, Greece and Slovenia are inviting representatives of professional football clubs to the first FIFPro Tournament Eastern Europe in Thessaloniki, Greece.

On the 9th of July, the players’ unions from Bulgaria (ABF), Greece (PSAP) and Slovenia (SPINS) will organize the tournament for players who are looking for a new contract. Each country will participate with one team consisting of professional footballers who are currently out of contract.

The tournament in Thessaloniki is the newest addition to the various FIFPro Tournaments. The original tournament started in 2005, initiated by the French and Dutch unions, respectively UNFP and VVCS. After six successful editions with numerous players signing contracts, FIFPro decided to expand the formula with tournaments in Northern Europe (Winter Tournament) and South America.

The teams from Bulgaria, Greece and Slovenia will play each other in a three-sides tournament. The games will last for 50 minutes. The matches will be played in the stadium of Aris FC in Thessaloniki, Greece.
