Maybe they will be the stars of the future… They might not be the best Dutch footballers yet, but the talented players who voted for the 2011 FIFA FIFPro World XI could create headlines in the nearby future.

The Dutch professional footballers’ association VVCS has its own Online Academy, offering varied curricula such as language training, management, marketing, ICT skills, and sports management.

Arjen Ebbinge, former pro and currently VVCS Academy associate, recently visited the Account Manager class in order to give some of Holland’s biggest talents the chance to participate in the election for the 2011 FIFA FIFPro World XI.

Keep in mind the names of the young footballers who casted their votes for the FIFA FIFPro World XI. Burak Kardes (PSV), Chiel Kramer (Ajax), Jurgen Locadia (PSV), Terrel Ondaan (AZ), Danzell Gravenberch (Ajax) and Lesley de Sa (Ajax), to name just  a few, are not household names yet in The Netherlands. But that could change instantly.

Last season, FIFPro visited Barcelona to have Lionel Messi launch the 2010 World XI vote. Also present on that occasion was a young, unknown player named Thiago Alcantara. One year later the midfielder has not only earned a spot in the squad of coach Pep Guardiala, he has also made his debut for the Spanish national team (against Italy on August 10th) and has got three appearances under his belt.

The VVCS, of course, also visited the Dutch first and second division clubs. Union president Danny Hesp and his men distributed approximately 900 ballot papers. Amongst the recipients was Michael Kruiswijk, current player of SC Heerenveen.
