Pione Sisto, player of the year in last season’s Danish Superliga, was among players of defending champion FC Midtjylland to vote for their FIFA FIFPro World XI.

Sisto (pictured left) was all smiles as he made his choice along with teammates including the Swedish goalkeeper Johan Dahlin, team captain Kristian Bak Bach (below) and midfielder Jakob Poulsen.

Sisto, who was born in Uganda,  has lived in Denmark since he was a child and made his debut for the Danish national team in a European Championship qualifier in September.

The votes were collected by the Danish players’ union, Spillerforeningen, one of 58 national unions collecting votes on behalf of FIFPro.

Romanian national team

Also voting for the world’s best eleven was Romania’s national team whose players made their picks while they were on international duty recently.

Captain Vlad Chiriches, who joined Napoli from Tottenham Hotspur this year, playmaker Lucian Sanmartean and goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon were among those to fill out ballot papers.

The votes were rounded up by the Romanian players union AFAN.

Romania qualified for Euro 2016 last month by beating the Faroe Islands 3-0.

The 55 players with the most votes in their position on the field will be announced on November 26, and the World XI will be unveiled in January along with the Ballon d’Or winner.
