Goalkeeper Vladislav Stoyanov is Bulgaria's Player of the Season for 2015/2016. The 28-year-old claimed the award for the second time in three years ahead of Martin Kamburov and Marcelinho.

Stoyanov, capped 15 times for Bulgaria, has been riding a wave of success ever since joining PFC Lodogorets Razgrad halfway through the 2012/2013 season. The club celebrated its fifth consecutive league title this season, with Stoyanov involved in the last four championship-winning campaigns.

Lokomotiv Plovdiv striker Kamburov may have just missed out on the top prize but he did not leave empty handed. He was recognised for being the league's top scorer with 18 goals from 30 league appearances.

Marcelinho, the other runner-up in the best player category, not only won the league this season, the Brazilian-born midfielder scored the winning goal against Portugal on a dream international debut for Bulgaria. In the same match, Stoyanov produced one of his best ever performances in which he saved a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty for the second time in his career.

The awards, organised by the Bulgarian footballers' association, ABF, honoured the country's top female players for the first time in the 15-year history of the event. Silvia Radoyska saw off competiton from Veronika Gotseva and Nina Georgieva.
