The Bulgarian professional footballers’ association ABF is gearing up for the first FIFPro Tournament Eastern Europe. The players who are looking for a contract had their first training on Tuesday June 28th.

Last year, the ABF and their colleagues of the Greek players’ union PSAP organized two friendly matches against each other for out of contract players. It was a successful initiative, as 17 of the 22 Bulgarian footballers managed to sign a new contract.

This year, they organize their first tournament together with the Slovenian footballers’ association SPINS. On the 9th of July the three teams will meet each other for this tournament in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The Bulgarian team will be trained and coaches by Rumen Stoianov. He is a former player of CSKA Sofia. As a coach, he has worked at PFC Marek Dupnitsa, PFC Montana, PFC Minior Bobov Dol, and PFC Svilengrad.

Team ABF will play two friendly matches before travelling to Greece. Their first match will be on Tuesday, July 5th, against PFC Chavdar.
