In Denmark, players of Brøndby IF and FC Copenhagen (champions and current leaders) welcomed the representatives of Spillerforeningen, the Danish professional footballers’ association, and enjoyed to participate in the 2011 FIFA FIFPro World XI election.

At Brøndby, Thomas Lindrup, the president of Spillerforeningen posed with amongst others Martin Bernburg and Mikkel Thygesen for the union’s photographer.

Moments  later both players motivated their choices in front of the television camera of Kanal Sport.

‘In my point of view Messi and Ronaldo are by far the best players in the world’, said Bernburg. ‘But also Wayne Rooney because he has done a great job at Manchester United this season. That’s why he should definitely  be on the team too. His last season was not so good, but now he’s showing us the old Rooney, who is a big part in United’s success at the moment’, according to the Brøndby IF striker.

Midfielder Thygesen confessed he enjoys watching the Spanish league and thus has mostly Spanish players on his team: ‘Xavi and Iniesta are my favourites on the midfield. When it comes to my favourite striker it’s no secret that I have always admired Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a football player. But I also like him as a person because he has done a lot for the area in Malmø in Sweden where he grew up.’
