The Belgian professional footballers’ association ACV-Sporta announced its newest project: Team Players4contract.

Together with the Belgian football federation KBVB, the Pro League and the coaches association BFC Pro, the Belgian players’ union offers to help professional footballers without a contract in their search for a new professional club.

On Monday May 14th, all parties launched their ambitious project during a press conference in Brussels.

Players4contract offers the players a comprehensive training program, including several friendly matches. Bart De Roover will act as head coach of the Players4contract Team. The first official training is scheduled on July 2nd at the home of the Belgian federation in Tubize.

Players who want to participate in this project must meet the following criteria:

  • fulltime professional footballers from Belgian 1st or 2nd league;
  • out of contract;
  • the last employer must be a Belgian club or the Belgian player must have played for a team abroad;
  • pass the physical tests

The Players4contract Team will play two international matches against their Dutch counterparts of Team VVCS. Both countries will compete for the so called ‘Low Countries Cup’.

Match schedule:

  • July 16: Players4contract-Team VVCS
  • July 18: Team VVCS-Players4contract
  • July 24: KV Kortrijk-Players4contract
  • August 8: KV Mechelen-Players4contract
