Board

A board with a worldwide responsibility

FIFPRO's board carries the responsibility of representing more than 65,000 professional footballers. They lead what is a truly global organisation, representing each of our four divisions -- Africa, the Americas, Asia / Oceania and Europe. Most of the board members are former professional footballers with deep experience and expertise about the industry -- both on and off the pitch

What you should know

Global Representation

The FIFPRO board is reflective of the 66 FIFPRO Member Unions. Representatives from Africa the Americas, Asia / Oceania and Europe all feature, and are elected by FIFPRO's divisions. Not only are there members from all over the world, but from 2021 the 18-person board must have at least 33% of either men or women.

Expertise from on and off the pitch

The FIFPRO board draws on expertise from both within and outside the football industry. While former players are frequently represented in the FIFPRO board, it is not uncommon to also have personnel from other backgrounds.

Agreeing on next steps, and celebrating player achievements

As well as agreeing and approving important policies and viewpoints at the General Assembly, FIFPRO also acknowledges the incredible efforts of players who have made a different through merit awards based on player activism, player impact and player voice.
