FIFPRO Europe stresses that collective bans should be avoided wherever possible and that resources should be directed towards improving surveillance, reporting, and sanctioning mechanisms in football stadia.

In a further display of the reinforced spirit of cooperation between FIFPRO Europe and UEFA, the FIFPRO Europe board led by President David Terrier met with a delegation of UEFA led by President Aleksander Ceferin yesterday in Stuttgart.

Under the accord, signed by the leaders of both organisations in Paris, a FIFPRO Europe representative will join the UEFA executive committee from May 2025. Meanwhile, UEFA has committed to involving FIFPRO Europe in any decision that could affect players’ employment conditions, or any potential competition reform that could impact players’ workload.

FIFPRO Division Europe discussed its strategy for the upcoming years during its two-day general assembly in Budva, Montenegro. Approximately 70 representatives of 34 member unions participated in the meetings that took part between 24-25 May 2022.   

Terrier, a vice president of French player union UNFP and FIFPRO global board member, is a former professional footballer who played for the likes of Metz, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Nice.
