Peru's Fernando Revilla (SAFAP) and Costa Rica's Alejandro Sequeira (ASOJUPRO) have been elected by their American peers to the new FIFPRO global board.

FIFPRO Central and North America’s divisional general assembly took place between 30 April and 1 May in Cancun, Mexico. FIFPRO President David Aganzo actively participated as a guest.

FIFPRO Central and North America held its first ever general assembly after last year’s organisational changes to FIFPRO Division America.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled in favour of Cristian Paul Arano Ruiz, who sued Bolivian side Club Blooming through FABOL and FIFPRO for accumulated debts in the payment of salaries, prizes and bonuses. The decision establishes favourable jurisprudence for Bolivian players.

During a multi-purpose trip to Qatar this week, FIFPRO has met with leaders of the Qatar Players Association with a view to helping the recently-established organization to support local and expatriate professional footballers who work in the Gulf state.

It marked the division’s second general assembly following 2021’s organisational changes to FIFPRO Division America, which enabled the Central and North American unions to better represent players in negotiations with stakeholders such as Concacaf.

FIFPRO Sudamerica held its general assembly in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 24-25 August 2022. The two-day event was an opportunity to showcase the positive work being done in South America, where an array of topics were covered.

The 15th FIFPRO Africa Congress has been held in Johannesburg where in 2009, two years after its foundation, the division really took off.

Professional footballers in Canada are now affiliated to FIFPRO, as the world players’ union welcomes PFACan as a candidate member.

FIFPRO is welcoming the Union of Professional Footballers in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SPFBiH) as one of four new members on 1 January 2021.

The FIFPRO President will be working alongside former Brazil striker Ronaldo Nazario, a legend of world football, and former FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura.
