FIFPro extends its support to the French and German national team players who will return to action today four days after the tragic events while they were playing at the Stade de France in Paris.

As the international players’ union, FIFPro would like to pay tribute to both teams and those in other parts of the world for carrying out their duties at such a difficult time.

The matches in London and Hannover -- in which France plays England and Germany faces the Netherlands -- are a way to show solidarity with the families of the victims and demonstrate that football is a unifying force.

“We know the players at Wembley Stadium in London and the HDI Arena in Hannover will be the perfect ambassadors for football,” FIFPro President Philippe Piat said. “It is important to show society cannot give in to the actions of a minority.”
