Japanese players’ union wins FIFPro Merit Award
The Japanese professional footballers’ association JPFA is the winner of the 2012 FIFPro Merit Award. The players union received the award because of its charity work for the victims of the 2011 tsunami in Japan.
Peres Center For Peace wins FIFPro Merit Award
The Peres Center For Peace in Israel is the winner of the 2011 FIFPro Merit Award. The world professional footballers’ union awarded this prize to the Israeli charity for its Twinned Peace Sport Schools project.
FIFPro Merit Award for Costa Rican players
Steven Bryce and Reynaldo Parks received this years’ FIFPro Merit Award. The world-wide players’ union for professional footballers paid tribute to both board members of the Costa Rican union for the voluntary work they developed.
The Nonda Foundation receives its reward
Stéphane Burchkalter, secretary-general of FIFPro Division Africa witnessed the final day of the Shabani Nonda Tournament in DR Congo, and handed over the Merit Award to the volunteers of the Nonda Foundation.
A big brother called Shabani Nonda
Shabani Nonda collected the FIFPro Merit Award he earned for his charity in his country, the Democratic Republic of Congo. The striker uses football to encourage children to get back on track at school.
