Bolivian union demands that clubs pay their players
The professional footballers in Bolivia refuse to commence the season if clubs do not pay salaries from 2009. Besides that, players’ union Fabol demands health insurance for players and a National Dispute Resolution Chamber.

Brazilian judge prohibits matches in intense heat
Football players in Brazil no longer have to play in intense heat. A judge has forbidden matches to be played when the temperature exceeds 35 degrees Celsius. The players’ union had requested the judge to take action.

Beasley and Silva victims of violent attackers
Just one week after Paraguayan international Salvador Cabañas was shot in his head, two other players were victims of very serious and violent incidents. Juan Carlos Silva got shot, while DaMarcus Beasley’s car was bombed.
