Kresten Blæsild, player advisor from the Danish footballers’ association Spillerforeningen, is delighted but not surprised that 15 out of 16 players that participated in the FIFPro Tournament found a new club within 4 weeks.

The Spanish professional football players, organised in the AFE, have announced that they will strike during the first two rounds of the Primera and Segunda División. FIFPro fully supports these players, says president Leo Grosso.

Luis Rubiales, president of the Spanish footballers’ association (AFE), accompanied by 110 professional footballers has announced that the footballers of the First and Second Division in Spain will strike.

Iker Casillas, captain of Spain and Real Madrid, and vice president of AFE, explained very clearly why the players will go on strike. ‘You have to be in solidarity with the players who are facing problems.’

Further to the devastating riots that have swept across England and the news of England’s friendly game against the Netherlands being cancelled, the English PFA is working with the government to appeal for calm.
